Abstract

The effects of stress are constant factors and important components in one's life and cause relevant changes on the immune system. Dendritic cells (DCs) are antigen presenting cells with a unique ability to activate T lymphocytes. These cells are important elements of the link between innate and adaptive immune responses. However, the pathways involved in regulating these cells still remain unclear. Thus, this project aims to investigate the effects of restraint stress on the regulation of dendritic cells (DCs) in rats. DCs will be analyzed in the stage of differentiation, endocytic capacity and antigen presenting function.
