Abstract

This project aims to investigate the effects of new thiazolidinediones (TZDs) chemically modified in an animal model of metabolic syndrome and to compare the effects obtained with rosiglitazone, a TZD previously studied and established commercially. This assessment will cover the effects of thiazolidinediones on the expression of modified pro-inflammatory genes, anti-inflammatory liver and adipose tissue infiltration of macrophages in the liver and adipose tissue and the effect on gene expression and genes involved in adipokines insulin signaling in mice with metabolic syndrome developed.
