Abstract

Reflection about memory is constant in various subjects of the human sciences, and also of the language sciences - especially in semantic and discourse studies. The perception of a discoursive memory requires a confrontation of peculiar issues of the language - langue - and the language - langage, and the ones brought by history. During our doctoral research called Discoursive memory of the dictatorship in the XXI century: democratic visibilities and opacities, under the guidance of Professor Vanice Maria Oliveira Sargentini (UFSCar), we propose a look into the production of a Brazilian military dictatorship's memory in the XXI century, in order to analyze the memory's functioning on the consolidation of an ongoing history of short and medium terms in which media is circumscribed and produces spectacularization effects. Thus, we focus our discoursive analysis on texts that are now resumed and produced amidst a frequent debate about the opening of dictatorship files. At this time, in our research proposal, we intend to rely on the substantial contribution which may bring us an internship abroad - 12 months at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3, in Paris, France, under the co-supervision of Professor Christian Puech, whose research about the history of linguistic ideas, and also about the emergence of notion of discourse in France, will help us to further develop issues surrounding discourse and memory. The dialogs with the co-supervisor and with professors who are devoted to the study of speech, the bibliographical research, and also the participation in seminars and events are to enhance the writing of the first chapter of our doctoral thesis, as are also to point to a discussion about memory in contemporaneity - which will be the subject of the second chapter of our work.
