Abstract

The focus of this study is the film "News from Ideological Antiquity" (2008). It was released directly on DVD with a running time of 9 hours. A masterpiece from the TV and movie director Alexander Kluge. The project was conceived from Eisensteins idea of making a film about "Das Kapital" (Karl Marx). "News from Ideological Antiquity", shows the influence of television productions on the German film maker. The director makes creative use of his work on TV in this audiovisual essay from 2008. The last important goal is to understand its direct dialogue, (as a replica) with the critical theory of Theodor W. Adorno. (Kluge's friend, the one who didn't believe in the creative potential of the TV).
