Abstract

This request is part of project that aims at analyzing two programs for transfer the management of public schools in basic education for private institutions: Ensino Medio Integral in São Paulo and the DC Public Charter School Program - Washington, DC. The justification for this choice is based on the fact that both are based on the assumption that the privatization of public school management is an important factor for improving the educational process. The theme has been the subject of research funded and coordinated by me for this and other development agencies since 2001. (AU)
