Abstract

The project will be held at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, for a period of nine months under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fernando Acacio Monteiro dos Santos. Professor Fernando is already familiar with this research since it acts as co-supervisor of the Thesis Project. This season at the University of Lisbon has as main activities the development of algorithms for the forward modeling and single inversion of 2D data of DC (Electrical Resistivity) and TDEM (Time Domain Electromagnetics). The algorithm for 2D TDEM inversion is unprecedented in the world and the support of Prof. Fernando becomes essential to their achievement, since he is an expert in modeling and inversion of geophysical data. These steps are critical to the future realization of joint 2D inversion of TDEM and DC. (AU)
