Abstract

The project objective is to examine the ritual-theatre area, with a focus on the word, object, and the actor's body, having that like one of the main elements of the ritual universe. Then this research looks for the creation of a body that is theatre-ritual's metaphor. The body idea of this research is not limited to physical, because this restraint aims to something very technical and could result in a "handbook of actor's body construction". On the contrary, our body idea has based on phenomenology is the study that appears, subject studies, and studies all things the subject can analyze. It means the way starts with the own subject into the things he views, he believes; then the trues will be constructed, not dictated. On actor's work, all the materials like texts, exercises, laboratories, and research must be set out from the necessities of the actor, who constructs himself in a creative process. The ritual universe is out of the quotidian. The ritual universe reaches a place that instigates all the participants to exercise others' perception ways. Then it awakes our all senses and gets us out of logical dictatorship existent in the actual society. This ritual place is nearby the place of art because many times ago theatre and ritual were the same. The occident theatre studies Greek as the beginning place of the theatre, and their theatre was the picking ritual. With this prerogative, the project looks partly back to the origin, to ritual. For this, we will do a dialogue with theatrical theories contemporaries that aim to innovate on art mainly through language, and the ritual universe is propitious to a new language construction because it encloses many languages. Antonin Artaud, studied in diverse knowledge areas being one of the theatres, brings in his texts points about the ritual; his work especially "The theatre and its double" is one the main bases of this project. This research is theoretical and practical. It will investigate the body in a ritual universe. Firstly we will give a theoretical approach, with the research of bibliography and other materials that discuss the body like a ritual element. Secondly, we will do the construction of a scene set out from the materials found for the first time and others we will discover during the creative process. This staging will have the actor's body like a main element inside the ritual theatre universe.(AU)
