Abstract

This project is linked to an international cooperation between the Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM) and Graphene Research Centre, National University of Singapore. As a result of this cooperation a research group in the field of graphene and nanostructured materials was created in UPM, titled Mackgrafe. UPM within this cooperation will build a building of 8 floors to allocate Mackgrafe. The group Mackgrafe to begin surveys submitted a Thematic Project FAPESP. In this project there is the prediction of the collaboration between the centers and among other things the production of graphene by CVD method (Chemical Vapor Deposition). This project abroad scholarship's main objective is to develop a process for transferring large graphene film grown on sheets of copper or nickel through the CVD method to a polymeric substrate. The innovation of this project is the size of the graphene film which will be produced and transferred (about 8 inches). The great challenge is to transfer the graphene film with few layers (the minimum possible) without the film suffers any kind of damage such as breakage, bending or blistering of the sheet. This study also evaluated the polymeric substrate is that the transfer process meets the objectives mentioned above and that it suffers the least possible degradation. (AU)
