Abstract Inadequate bone height in posterior maxilla doesn't make oral rehabilitation with osseointegrated implants easy. Literature considered, autologous bone graft as gold standard, in maxillofacial reconstructions. However, the fact of a second surgery as well as use of general anesthesia, could be seem negatively in some cases. Autogenous bone graft disadvantages as donor site morbidity, unpredictable reasorption, among other are known, making bone substitutes use, as a good option for posterior maxilar reconstruction. Bone substitutes can be allografts, xenografts and alloplastic materials. These materials can highlight the beta tricalcium phosphate (²-TCP), which is an alloplastic mateterial used like bone substitute since the 70s.The aim of this study is to evaluate autogenous bone graft mixed with ²-TCP in human maxillary sinus lifiting by tomografic, histometric, immunohistochemical and histologic analysis. Autogenous bone will be collected, by thephine drill, with 10 mm diameter in retromolar region and crushed. After that, fifty percent of ²-TCP (Chronos - Synthes®) will be added. Sinus lifting surgery will be approached by lateral wall, proposed by Tatum. After 6 months, biopsy will be taken by trephine burr (2.5 mm Neodent®) before implants placement. (AU) | |
