Abstract

The objective with this study to evaluate the effect of different inclusion levels of canola oil in the diet of lactating cows on milk production and composition, but also ruminal and blood parameters. Will be used 24 Holstein cows, which distributed in 3x3 Latin square according to the following treatments: T1 = control diet, T2 = inclusion of 3% canola oil diet and the inclusion of T3 = 6% of canola oil in the diet . The animals will be housed in individual pens at the intake assessment with 10% left in the trough. The diets are based on corn silage, soybean meal, corn meal, urea and common salt, which will be made on the recommendations of NRC (2001) and formulated to be isonitrogenous and isocaloric. The dry matter intake will be assessed throughout the experimental period, with heavy supply and leftovers daily. The remaining variables are: milk composition (fat, protein, lactose, total solids, blood urea nitrogen, and somatic cell count), lipid profile of milk and food, body weight, blood (non-esterified fatty acids, glucose, urea , triglycerides, urea nitrogen and betahidroxibutirato) rumen fluid (pH, ammonia nitrogen and volatile fatty acids). The results will be analyzed by the computer program Statistical Analysis System ® (SAS, 2001), by the command-Proc MIXED of SAS, adopting a significance level of 5% according to the following model: Yijkl = ¼ + Ti + Qj + A (Q) + k + Pl eijkl.
