Abstract

The governmental Program entitled "Primary Care Articulators Program" was created to support the implementation of Primary Health Care in the state of São Paulo through a new profession, the primary care articulator. Due to the scarceness of information about this new function on the scientific literature, this project aims to understand and analyze the way that articulators make meaning about their professional practice. At the same time, this project intents to offer contributions of the Psychological discipline to reflect about this new Program. This research will be realized with twelve articulators who work in four Health Care Regional Departments (DRS). Together, these departments compose the Health Care Network 13 of the state of São Paulo (DRS of Ribeirão Preto, Araraquara, Franca e Barretos). The research corpus will be constructed through individual semi-structured interviews. These interviews will first be audio-recorded, and then, they will also be completely transcribed. Qualitative procedures based on the social constructionist movement in Psychology will be the basis to the analysis of this research corpus in general, while the analysis of meaning making through discursive practices will be the theoretical and methodological analytical basis in specific. This process will be developed in five stages: 1ª) the transcription of the interviews; 2ª) exhaustive reading of the transcripts; 3ª) identification of the main themes that were discussed during the interviews; 4ª) the construction of categories; and 5ª) the construction of maps of ideas association. It is possible that this study will contribute to understand how this function of primary care articulator have been developed in practice, describing the main theoretical and technical resources that they need to perform their function; and, contributing to the participation of Psychology in the politics regarding public health.
