Abstract

This project is part of the thematic project named Politics and social classes in the neoliberal capitalism and it has as object of research the economic policy of funding of the brazilian state to the large national companies, which is executed by BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social). The hypothesis of this project is that during the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's mandates (2003-2010) the government, by the aid of BNDES's fundings, enlarged the activities and protected the business of the brazilian inner bourgeoisie in dispute with the international financial capital. The policy of funding of BNDES protected and supported a diversification of the participation of these companies in several sectors of the economy, a reunion of a great mass of capital under their control and a process of internalization of their activities during the years of Lula's mandates. The fundings of BNDES allowed these companies, in Brazil and in the foreign space, to extract larger incomes, to increase their assets and to create more jobs and thus they have become corporations of companies. In this manner, in a specific political and economical conjuncture in which Brazil fits as peripheral social formation of capitalism in its neoliberal phase, we investigate the policy of funding of BNDES to the brazilian companies.
