Abstract

The present study aims to find evidence of validity for the instrument Personality Inventory for DSM-5, based on DSM-5, in a sample of people who met the criteria for some personality disorders by DSM-IVR. The participants will be selected from those referred to psychotherapeutic treatment and submitted to the structured diagnostic interviews for the Brazilian version of the DSM-IV, Axis-I, and II (Del-Ben, Rodrigues & Zoardes, 1996) and to the Dimensional Clinical Inventory of Personality, IDCP (Carvalho, 2011). Therefore, it will be an intentional stratified sampling due to the intentional and categorical selection of the subjects and the possibility to compare the results obtained from both instruments with the diagnostics of the structured clinical interviews (Patton, 2002). The group will be composed of 40 adult individuals (at least 18 years old), of both genders, and residents of São Paulo city, without a diagnosis of a schizophrenic disorder or anti-social personality disorder or dementia or mental disabilities. The instrument will be adapted to the Portuguese language (according to the usual procedure invalidation of foreign instruments of translation/back translation).(AU)
