Abstract

Based on the need for greater coverage in the geomorphological mapping of river dynamics to survey the environmental sensitivity to oil spills, this research, using traditional techniques of geomorphological mapping is proposed to adapt them to the creation of a geomorphological mapping which can cooperate with the evaluation of the environmental sensitivity of river dynamics. For this, will need to identify and map the geomorphological features in order to assess the significance of these in terms of their sensitivity. The area selected for the mapping is a segment of the lower course of the Tietê river, between the urban core of Anhembi (SP) and the confluence with the Piracicaba river. Thus, this approach is part of a broader project to check the index of environmental sensitivity to the oil spill, which uses data from geomorphological features that are extracted from the analysis of satellite images obtained by the sensor HRG SPOT-05, starting up a scale ranging from zero (low sensitivity) to ten (high sensitivity).(AU)
