Abstract

Chemicals with potential to deregulate the endocrine systems of vertebrates and invertebrates have been detected in aquatic environments worldwide in concentrations on the order of ppb (part per billion). Among them we highlight the natural and artificial hormones, present in wastewater that are discharged into the environment without treatment or water treatment ineffective for their removal. Faced with this question, this research aims to evaluate the toxicity of IE (endocrine disruptors) 17 b-Estradiol (E2) and 17a-ethinylestradiol (EE2) on fish species Danio rerio, exposed by chronic period in contaminated water in the laboratory. The ability of these pollutants are adsorbed water by humic substances (SHA), zeolites and activated carbons, will be evaluated by chemical analysis in gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrum (GC-MS) and ecotoxicological this removal efficiency is investigated through test biological recovery, exposing the same organisms at concentrations after these treatments with adsorptive materials. In fish, the parameters to be evaluated histological analyzes of gonads, analyzes of vitellogenin by histochemical method (liver of adult males), gonadosomatic index and hepatosomatic index.
