Abstract

The discovery of the electroencephalogram (EEG) allowed the study of brain electrical signals. The EEG is widely used in the sleep cycles study including related disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This condition affects about 4% of men and 2% of women workforce. In this project is proposed the analysis of sleep graphoelements and correlate these graphoelements with neurophysiological functions and events. EEG examinations carried out in adult diagnosed with OSA will be used in the project. The detection of sleep spindles and K complexes will be carried out by computational methods based on time x frequency analysis. We will investigate correlations between topographic regions and the studied graphoelements, and investigate their impacts on human health.
