Abstract

Studies suggest that AMPK is a key protein in inflammation control. Preliminary data of this study suggest that inhibition of the hypothalamic AMPK with compound C leads to central and systemic inflammation in control rodents with and without tumor. Moreover, loss of function of AMPK using genetic techniques is of great relevance. Therefore, the aim of this study will be to assess the role of the hypothalamic AMPK in tumor development and central and systemic inflammation in rodents. (AU)
