Abstract

Expansion experiments with Bose-Einstein condensates in optical lattices has been carrying out by several research groups, showing the phase transition from superfluid (SF) to Mott-insulator (MI). This sandwich Ph.D. project aims to describe the phase diagram of this systems when considering mixtures of atomic species in optical lattice with hexagonal symmetry using numerical methods of Quantum Monte-Carlo applied to the Bose-Hubbard model.
