Analysis of the frequency of oscillation during different activities mastication in subjects with temporomandibular disorders

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the frequency of body sway in individuals diagnosed with temporomandibular dysfunction different activities during chewing. The individuals will be diagnosed according to Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders - RDC / TMD (axis I and II) were divided into 2 groups, DTM Group and Control Group. Subsequently, two groups of volunteers will be assessed through electromyographic evaluation and stabilometric simultaneously. Where, will be collected from electromyographic signals of Anterior Temporal and Masseter muscles while performing the stabilometric assessment with the individual in standing position on a force platform, performing the mandibular rest, not habitual masticatory activity (isotonic) and bilateral return the mandibular rest, with eyes open and eyes closed, being performed 2 repetitions for each condition, with collection time of 120 seconds for each condition.
