Abstract

The intent of the internship in the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, Graduate School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health is to analyze disease epidemic and its characterizations, through environmental and spatial analysis. The research will be carried out in a controlled manner, following a review of the procedures, techniques, approaches and activities that best fit the goals and contexts of regular research in Brazil. The knowledge gained from this stage may draw more possibilities of interpretation of the distribution and characteristics of American Visceral Leishmaniasis in the city of Presidente Prudente - SP, bringing a qualitative leap in the development of regular research and scientific production.
