Abstract

Materials derived from Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) and calcium silicate have been developed. The aim of this study is to evaluate the radiopacity, flow, setting time, pH, compression, and bond strength of a new cement based on calcium silicate named Biodentine. It will be studying the following materials: 1) White MTA-Angelus (MTA), 2) Biodentine (BDE), 3) Zinc Oxide and Eugenol (ZOE). To test radiopacity it will be used radiographs with an aluminum scale. The test of flow will be based on ISO 6876, ranging in shape analysis. To determine the setting time pattern a Gilmore needle will be used. The measurement of pH will be conducted by means of a digital pH meter. In the compression test, a mechanical testing machine will be used. To evaluate the bond strength, the specimens will be tested in a mechanical testing machine using a push-out load cell to 5 kN, and a speed of 1 mm/min. The data will be statistically analyzed by ANOVA test and Tukey, with a significance level of p <0.05.(AU)
