Abstract

The present study firstly aimed to investigate theoretically the phenomenon of common slang and vulgar language (erotic and obscene), whose exponent in Brazil is Dino Preti. Secondly, starting from a previously chosen corpus (the macrostructure of Daniela Gobetti's Italian-English bilingual glossary entitled Dictionary of Slangs and Colloquial Expressions in Italian), our aim is to elaborate a bilingual Italian-Portuguese glossary of usual slangs and vulgar expressions in Italian. For this purpose, given the ephemeral nature of slang, we will have the collaboration of 4 native Italian informants in order to ascertain which terms are still usual in that language community. Finally, this new macrostructure will be described as entries containing the equivalent terms in Brazilian Portuguese and a sentence that clarifies the word meanings. This original survey aims to fulfill the existing gap in this area since there is a lack of such works that contrast the Italian and Brazilian Portuguese languages.(AU)
