Abstract

This research project has as its starting point and issue the following central question: how to think about moral education and consequently a new school considering our complex and pluralistic societies? Based on the theory of recognition Honneth, we intend to investigate how this theory can help us think and make moral education a 'turning point' in their formative processes, giving priority to the acceptance of differences and recognition of the authenticity of the other. Thus, at first we intend to analyze the situation of our complex and pluralistic societies and how education and school work within that reality. Secondly, we will investigate and analyze the theory of recognition developed by Honneth to understand the meaning of the struggle for recognition for the constitution of the identity of the subjects. And finally, the last part, given the complex and pluralistic societies and our educational reality, we want to think, with the help of the theory of recognition Honneth, a moral education that can transform the school into a democratic environment and, as Honneth claims positive for the constitution of the identity of our students.
