Abstract

This project presents as theme a recent process: the experience of indigenous students developing researches in Brazilian public universities. It is about a context in which these researches emerge as privileged opportunities to reflect on different ways of creation and circulation of knowledges, and systematization of knowledges, since they enable indigenous students at the academic environment to bring their understandings about their own ways of knowing, which can approach them or distancing them from the way by which knowledge is accessed and treated in university courses and in academic researches. It is intended, therefore, to see how in these researches are being built these possibilities of dialogues and reflections, and if they point to processes that we could understand how cultural translation strategies. Were selected for this purpose experiences of indigenous students in undergraduate and graduate who develop researches in the areas of Health and Human Sciences, in three Universities: Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), University Federal do Amazonas (UFAM) and Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), because of their different realities of researches, allowing relevant comparisons and contributions to the theme proposed here.
