Abstract

The association between obesity and dementia has been investigated in several studies. The high amount of visceral fat seems to be a risk factor for dementia incidence in prospective cohort studies. However, imaging methods used for the quantification of visceral fat are not precise. A study, which analyzes the relationship between abdominal visceral fat and dementia using autopsy material, will contribute to a better understanding of this association. (AU)
