Abstract

Long Latency auditory evoked potentials (LLAEP) provide advantages over the more popular techniques such as brainstem auditory evoked potentials. The answers are captured near the site where they are generated, providing waves of greater amplitude, which may be registered with the subject in a state of alert and, could use both tonal and speech stimuli. These potentials provide valuable information on the perception of auditory stimuli. Objective: develop a protocol with the use of auditory cortical, in equipment for automatic analysis of response, Hear Lab for the estimate of hearing thresholds in normal hearing individuals. Method: 30 adults of both sexes aged between 18 and 40 years will be invited to compose the study, with normal hearing and without hearing complaints. The LLAEP will be recorded with "tone burst" 500 Hz, 1, 2, 3 and 4 kHz at 70 dB HL and with decreasing intensity to the threshold, presented by insertion phone. Will also recorded the behavioral threshold to the same stimuli. Will be analyzed the latency the waves P1, N1 and P2 in the maximum and minimum intensity, and the correlation between electrophysiological and behavioral thresholds.(AU)
