Abstract

The relationship between science museums and schools has changed over time and currently, the school visits to museums intensified and they started to be recognized as places of learning spaces and as facilitators for school learning science. However, the partnership between teachers and museums can be enlarged and strengthened. For this, specific actions and may need to be implemented. Knowing what teachers expect in these spaces and how they evaluate the contribution of visits to museums to teaching and learning can assist in promoting these actions. This study aims to identify the contribution of a Museum of Science for the teaching and learning of Science and Biology from the analysis of primary teachers. The research will focus on the Anatomy Museum of the Biosciences Institute at Botucatu, UNESP and their teachers and visitors will be developed in the qualitative perspective. Participants in this study were teachers in elementary and middle that made visits to the Museum of Anatomy in the IBB years 2011, 2012, and the first half of 2013. Data for this study derive from a questionnaire applied to teachers and interviews to be held with teachers and will be analyzed based on content analysis. (AU)
