Abstract

This research project presents a systematic theme of bivalve fossils, which aims to identify species collected in outcrop not yet described in the literature, of the Presidente Prudente (although it is believed that the outcrop of the part in question training Presidente Prudente, located near the Haras Quarto de Milha in a clover margins Highway Assis Chateaubriand (SP 425) Pirapozinho sense). The main objectives of the project under consideration are exploring and collecting fossils of shellfish Bauru Group, systematically classifying the taxa found in outcrops, and concurrently assisting and providing data for complementation of paleontological studies, as taphonomic and paleoecological already in development at Laboratory paleontology macroinvertebrates (LAPALMA), Unesp Bauru. The realization of the project will require field trips, intending to collect more fossil specimens for laboratory analysis, using this routine laboratory procedure in studies of microfossils and complementary bibliographic assistance as we have the most important Brazilian literary works on the topic, thus leading to new information that can be used for paleoecological studies now under development by the aforementioned Paleontology Laboratory of Macroinvertebrates.
