The current project proposal is a detailed taphonomic study of fossilized bivalves specimens collected in an outcrop in the vicinity of the municipalities of Presidente Prudente and Pirapozinho, location which is agreed to belong to Adamantina Formation in Bauru Group (Late Cretaceous, Bauru Basin.) Besides the specimens already deposited in the scientific collection of the Laboratório de Paleontologia de Macroinvertebrados in UNESP-Bauru, from preliminary collections, others should be sought on the present site, and in any new outcrops. Methodology consistent with the current proposal will be used during the taphonomic study. For example, the valve arrangement on the substrate, the azimuthal variation and length of the major axis of the bioclasto is very important for bioestratinomic analysis. As well as the degree of preservation of the fossil and the sedimentological feature are important for understanding the energy level employee in taphonomic process as a whole.
