Abstract This project is the creation of an early warning system for the intelligent monitoring of energy consumption of each electronic equipment. Such intelligence is provided through machine learning techniques to create a new smart approach, which is incorporated on the platform of monitoring electricity consumption. The platform is based on a wireless sensor network, which manages and transmits the information to a consumer of this date sink and to the cloud. It is worth highlighting, therefore, that the proposed solution for this research project differs from existing solutions in smart grids in at least three respects: it employed an intelligent method to monitor electricity consumption; it uses machine learning techniques; and it sends alerts to smart devices (phones, tablets, smartphones, notebooks and desktops) when something appears anomalous, for example, a period in which the electronic equipment uses more energy than expected.
