Abstract

This qualitative study aims to categorize the different types of Brazilian videos posted on theYoutube site, referring to the elderly, as well as analyze the image that has been built on them in these videos. The study will be developed using exploratory research through documentary videographic analysis. The terms "elderly" and "elderly image" will be used for searching at the Youtube site, for videos selection. As inclusion criteria at the research it will be taken into consideration only Brazilians videos containing images and speeches expressed in Portuguese language posted in the period between 2011 and 2012. Data contained in the videos will be analyzed by Content aAnalysis Technique for the oral expressions and Videographic Analysis Technique for figures and images. The results may help to minimize the gap on the Videographic Analysis about elderly and expand reflections about the values and images expressed in the media on this stage of human development. (AU)
