Abstract

This project aims the study of nanostructured polymeric membranes interaction with animal stem cell, correlating the materials properties and their biological response. In this work, will be characterized the Polylactic acid (PLA) polymeric membranes and their polyethyleneglycol (PEG) blend, which will be produced by solution blow spinning technique (SBS). It will be evaluated the adhesion, proliferation and viability of the steam cells correlating them with the surface properties of the nanofibers such as, wettability, roughness, surface area, etc. The development of a methodology for porous tridimensional supports (scaffolds) to cells growing aims to facilitate the formation of tissues and functional organs which will be used in regenerative veterinary medicine. The present project may provide unprecedented results on the application of nanostructured polymeric membranes based in biodegradable polymers on systems to adhesion of animals stem cell, since this issue is rarely cited in the literature. Furthermore, the nanostructures will be obtained by a potential large scale production technique and in situ viability. The project works at the interface of nanotechnology, chemistry and engineering of polymeric materials, aiming the practical applications of these membranes in tissue engineering.
