Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the relationship between population mobility and accessibility to key sectors of trade and services in six medium-sized cities - London, Marilia, Presidente Prudente, Ribeirão Preto, São Carlos, São José do Rio Preto. The analytical focus will be on the links between these dynamics and spatial choices of urbanites to realize the consumption of goods and services. For this analysis, we consider necessary to understand the distribution of the transport network and road structure of these cities, this interpretation will help us apprehend the urban design and potential accessibility problems. We will work with the analysis of the pendulum and urban accessibility, because the appreciation of the central areas is through the pendulum of workers and students moving from peripheral areas looking for better ways of consumption in central areas.
