Abstract

The present investigation proposes to conduct a critical cartography of the emergence of artistic practices marked by pedagogical objectives. Thus, as a study in social psychology, it aims to problematize certain places occupied by art in our present time and, more specifically, the current processes of subjectification in the educational field which take the practice of art as its instrument and/or principle of action. It is thus intended to discuss the system of statement and the type of rationality that provide some educational discourses exist to the detriment of others, or how the relations between art and educational practices are postulated and valued through the absorption of artistic practices by what Foucault designated as governmentality. To this end, it is taken as theoretical reference the criticism undertaken by Michel Foucault about the production of social practices that subjectivate individuals around certain devices in other to productively control life conditions of the populations. As a source of analysis, it was elected an archive consisting of articles, published in the last two decades (1990-2010), of Brazilian journals from the fields of art and education, classified as A1 and A2 by the Qualis system of CAPES, that will possibly indicate what ruptures and alliances were established in the constitution of educational device that assumes art as its banner. It is therefore a critical analysis of a device that, in the current historical moment in the country, would have art - or certain attributes and actions attached to it by different social practices - as a governing leading principle.
