Abstract

This project proposes to investigate critical and political dimensions present in the field conceptualized as "theater of the real" (SAISON, 1998), characterized by constant tension between the real and the fictional in scenic creations of today. The research starts from the assumption that a powerful critical dimension of these theaters would be linked to the construction of territories of otherness, defined here as privileged spaces for approximation and dialogue with the Other, whether in assembly processes or in the creation itself. Under this perspective, it is interesting to research how the incorporation of the speech and/or of the presence of non-actors in certain processes and spectacles helps to build and discuss the sense of representation, whether in staging or dramaturgy. More specifically, it is intended to understand how the friction between the contents fictional and non-fictional of the spectacles helps building new possibilities for representations of the Other that are up to its complexity, focusing on social groups and individuals somehow excluded or depreciated by processes of hegemonic representation. For this purpose, it will be analyzed how different scenic creations tenses the real and fictional and how the dosages of those relationships raises different productions of subjectivities and questioning of those groups. The project proposal is to explore examples of the contemporary scene, as the spectacles "Naquele Bairro Encantado" and "As Rosas no Jardim de Zula", created in Belo Horizonte and the work of Swiss-German collective Rimini Protokoll, through interviews, accompaniment of processes and seasons. In the theoretical field, the research aims to approach authors who investigate the recent changes in the field of scenic representation, from concepts as performative theater, theaters of the real and post-dramatic theater, and also to analyzing the political dimensions of the theaters of the real based on texts that handles this specific practice. The project also intends to link the notions of otherness drawn from the work of the philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas with the examples cited. The methodology of this project involves the intersection between documentary and bibliographic researches in order to prove or disprove the hypothesis previously raised. (AU)
