Abstract

Since obesity has become a public health problem, studies have focused increasingly trying to unravel the damage that fat accumulation can cause in the body. Today, it is known that obesity is associated with the development of a number of other diseases. Among the triggering factors of obesity, the consumption of high fat diet has increased in the population. Recent studies have shown the relationship between the consumption of high fat diet in periods such as pregnancy and lactation and damage in molecular mechanisms of offspring. Among these mechanisms, insulin signaling pathway has shown impaired due to characteristic subclinical inflammation of obesity. However, the effects of excessive body fat on insulin signaling of recently weaned animals and mice re-exposed to the high-fat diet in adulthood in central and peripheral tissues have not yet been fully characterized in the literature. In this context, this study will investigate the effects of metabolic programming and the reintroduction of high fat diet in adulthood on insulin signaling of the offspring at 28 and 82 days of life. Considering the effects of metabolic programming and the effects of direct consumption of high fat diet, we believe that both may cause potential changes in the mechanisms studied, however, metabolic programming would be a crucial factor for the development and aggravation of molecular disorders in adulthood.
