Abstract

The relations between territory, innovation and production system are presented as a basis for the study of Geography of Innovation, that investigates the geographical distribution of technological development and information networks that are configured on the scales spatially global, regional and local. In such networks, which make up the basis of the knowledge society, the university has highlighted initiatives from beyond the training of human resources and academic research, but also through the implementation of spaces dedicated to innovation in its vicinity, for example, constructing technology parks, which aims to strengthen university-industry relations from environments entrepreneurial culture modeled on the United States and Europe. Therefore, the deployment of High-Tech Parks in strategic locations, such as developments arise capable of bringing research and production sector in regions of potential R&D and ST&I. The University State of Campinas (Unicamp) shows itself capable of taking on a strategic role in the protection and enhancement of knowledge through initiatives that meet the entrepreneurial university model. It appears that the path to reach the deployment of "Science and Technology Park of Unicamp" occurred due to the presence of a strategy for a more entrepreneurial Unicamp through its Innovation Agency (Inova-Unicamp). Therefore, the objective of this work is to contribute to a better understanding of how the current strategy manifests entrepreneurial Unicamp for consolidation of Science and Technology Park in its surroundings and to characterize the folding of this phenomenon in the local space.
