This project aims to contribute significantly to the study and application of ruthenium carboxylates trinuclear as potential metallo-drugs. For this, it will be synthesized four new clusters of general formula [Ru3O(CH3COO)6(L)2NO]PF6 and [Ru3O(CH3COO)6(L)2CO]PF6 where L = pyridinic ligands, with À-acceptor and Ã-donor character, being 4-acetylpyridine and 4 tercbutilpiridina respectively. These compounds will be synthesized according to adjustments on synthetic routes already reported in the literature and will be characterized by the techniques of UV-visible spectroscopy, infrared, NMR, elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The photoinduced controlled release of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitric oxide (NO) will be investigated and compared in solution at physiological pH by spectrophotometric and amperometric monitoring. Moreover, it will be evaluated the influence of the pyridinic ligands on the CO and NO release and quantum yields involved in the release of molecules into the physiological environment will be calculate by chemical actinometry.
