Abstract

Opinião Newspaper (1972-1977) emerges as opposed to the Brazilian military regime. Facing strong censorship and the arrest of its leaders, the newspaper is one of the most important newspapers political basis of the underground press. The aim of this research is to analyze the film criticism as part of cultural resistance against the authoritarian regime. Seen as a form of cultural resistance, the film critic of Opinion scored discussions about Brazilian cinema in the seventies as a way of thinking pioneering and innovative, bringing important critics like Jean-Claude Bernardet, Sérgio Augusto, Gustavo Dahl and José Carlos Avellar.
