The increased consumption of acidic foods and beverages has caused the increase of cases of dental erosion. Applications which employ high concentrations of fluoride to prevent or reduce the progression of this change. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of fluoridated toothpaste and supplemented with sodium trimetaphosphate nanoparticulate in dental erosion in vitro. After obtaining bovine enamel blocks the data will be divided into 5 experimental groups (n = 12), distributed over the surface hardness (SH) according to the experimental dentifrices: 1) No F / TMP (Placebo) 2 ) 1100 ppm F (1100) 3) 1100 ppm F + 3%TMP ( 1100 3%TMP) 4) 1100 ppm F + 3%TMP nanoparticulate (1100 3%TMPn) and 5) 5000 ppm F (5000). The challenge is produced by erosive citric acid for 5min (4x/dia) for 5 days. After the challenges, are determined surface hardness (SH1), for calculating the percentage change in surface hardness (% SH) and enamel wear (µm). The data will be tested for normality and homogeneity to use the most appropriate statistical test to the data distribution. It will be used the statistical software program for Windows Sigmaplot© version 12.0, with significance level of 5%.
