Abstract

The Cerrado comprehends a complex of different phytophysiognomies named Domain. Considered a Hotspot of biodiversity, Cerrado domain shows a group of unique characteristics, as seasonality, which intercalate months with precipitation (October to March) and months without precipitation (July to September), and higher alterations in solar incidence and water availability on the environment, during the year. Those factors contribute to promoting drought and luminous stresses, furthermore, the metabolism and ecophysiological development are modified, which alter patterns in the production of volatile compounds, hydric balance, and photosynthesis, which are expressed by fluorescence. Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. is an arboreal plant, found in different physiognomies, from Altântica Forest to Cerrado. The essential oil production has been studied due to higher anti-inflammatory, herbicide, and allelochemical potentials. Nevertheless, studies about the relation of essential oil production and ecophysiological parameters are limited in native plants from Cerrado. The main objective is aimed to analyze the production of the essential oil in Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. during the periods of precipitation and drought and compare the ecophysiological parameters in seasonality.
