Abstract

The expansion of large Brazilian urban centers has been accompanied by population density and growth of the flow of vehicles. The result is increased noise generated in streets and avenues, that begin to draw the attention of builders, concerned with meeting the demands of acoustic comfort of the Performance Standard for residential buildings (NBR 15.575). To do this they can hire specialized companies to make sound mapping of the surrounding land where they will build their new ventures. The idea is to collect data and perform simulations that support the development of projects and the specification of solutions, materials, and construction systems with improved acoustic performance. An acoustic map is an essential tool for the study, diagnosis, and management of environmental noise. The result is an acoustic map of the region showing the location and distribution of different sound levels in a given geographical area. This work aims to create a noise map of the surroundings of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism (FEC) of Unicamp and evaluate the impact of noise in buildings that comprise making use of software to generate maps as Predictor of B & K version 7.8.10. To validate the model generated is necessary to make measurements that will be compatible with the simulated data. The expected outcome is to identify whether the environments for the classroom are subject to noise levels classified as acoustic discomfort according to the WHO (WHO, 2011). (AU)
