Abstract

The fashion industry in Brazil is a sector in full development characterized by several factors especially by the broad and diverse consumer market. Considering these aspects and the mobility of some age groups within the Brazilian population composition, which appears increasingly composed by individuals of higher ages, we note that the demand in this sector will be highly representative in the coming years and decades. Faced with an increasingly market more euphoric for consumption, with greater economic opportunities and increasingly demanding, surely this sector will require technical and scientific knowledge relevant to its consumers in order to meet their expectations. Given this context, this study seeks to analyze the influence of the biopsychosocial aspects of menopause/climateric in perceived usability of clothing products and, consequently, the development (project, execution and production) of fashion products (particularly clothing) suitable for women adult (middle-aged). Through a review of the state of the art and field approach with the target public in question is intended to analyze the body characteristics in midlife (phase transition between adult and elderly), as well as discuss the plastic reconfiguration of the body of these women and their meanings before the cultural contexts that influence the fashion as well studying how ergonomic factors involved that can influence the perception of usability clothing.
