Abstract

This research project aims to develop practical musical invention by applying heuristic procedures stimulating creativity in collective teaching environments with bands. From a literature review of teaching composition, structure and perception, analysis of heuristics processes and research on non-formal education, will seek a deepening and theoretical development involving cognitive sciences and analysis processes, forming the basis for organizing a proposal that prioritizes creative practices in these environments, in the form of invention exercises. We propose also, in the process of this research, to experience the application of Grounded Theory for the data collection observed after the invention practices, as well as the data analysis and concluding synthesis on the performance, efficiency and specificity of invention exercises developed here.
