Abstract

This research aimed at the development and systematization of musical invention practices stimulating the emergence of heuristic processes during creative actions. The activities were applied in collective education environments through laboratory practices at the Free Music School (ELM-CIDDIC), linked to the Center of Cultural Integration, Documentation and Diffusion of Unicamp (CIDDIC- Unicamp). From a literature review involving the analysis of heuristic processes, creativity and pedagogical practices in musical improvisation, we seek a deepening and theoretical development involving cognitive sciences and creative processes, as a basis for the organization of a pedagogical proposal prioritizing the practice of creative activities in the form of exercises of invention characterizing musical improvisation. In this work, we have used quality research processes to investigate the main influences stimulating the emergence of heuristic processes in the laboratory processes, as well as the nature and structure of these processes. We applied the Grounded Theory methodology for the collection and analysis of data after the practices of invention, from which a substantive theory was formulated based on the phenomena observed in the laboratory. As a result, we present a relational model combining structure and process, that is, an archetype capable of elucidating how certain conditions, actions/interactions and consequences are interrelated in musical learning. In this sense, we highlight certain procedures and contexts capable of stimulating or inhibiting heuristic processes as well as facilitating or hindering creative development, constituting a set of strategic information useful to educators who intend to include in their pedagogic activities the development of creativity and musical invention (AU)
