Abstract

The work activity takes imperative place in contemporary social relations, requiring worker versatility and submission to marketplace pressures, which there are no prospects for solidarity and collectivity. In opposition to this managerial model of work, one of the self-managed proposals ventures is come to rescue work as support to identity. Besides it demands distinct practices of managerialist model, self-management also requires new processes of subjectivity to the enhancement of collective action. However, studies in self-managed cooperatives of rural settlements problematize the difficulty of transposing the ideological speech of self-management for day-to-day, resulting in many subjects that not participate of self-managed project. Therefore the objective of this research is to investigate the meanings attributed by workers employed in self-managed cooperative, in order to understand the reasons why these workers are not adhering to this model. The field elected is a cooperative of small producers in agrarian reform settlement from São Paulo state. Being a qualitative research it will be conducted by bibliographic and documentary survey, observations, semi-structured interviews and thematic seminars. For data analysis, we propose the triangulation of documents and literature information, with the observations and the speech of the respondents. We intend to amplify the results of this research to academic field as well as the production of knowledge that can contribute to reflect on new forms of work meaning in the contemporary scene. (AU)
