Abstract Low molar weight Aldehydes, especially formaldehyde and acetaldehyde, are very common chemical pollutants present in indoor air environment. They are emitted into indoor air from building materials and construction products. Interest in measurements of these compounds has grown recently due to their potential impact on human health. According to the literature, the indoor aldehydes concentrations are until 10 times higher than oudoor environments. Although the formaldehyde and acetaldehyde are recognized as an important environmental problem, in Brazil there are few studies on the contribution of these compounds to the environmental. The present project has as objective to developed and optimize new analytical methods for determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in indoor environments. The aldehydes sampling are made using active samplers and will be determined by capillary electrophoresis (CE) as main analytical technique. | |
