Abstract

Dengue is arboviral disease most important in the world, because about 390 million people are infected each year. There are four serotypes of dengue virus (DENV). Each of them can generate fever classic dengue (DF) and the most severe case, dengue hemorrhagic fever with or without shock (DHF / DSS). The first dengue infection provides protection for life against reinfection with the same serotype but only partial protection against other serotypes. It is believed that existing antibodies against one serotype may increase the severity of the disease, a phenomenon known as antibody dependent enhancement (ADE) . Many are the efforts made by researchers to a better understanding of the phenomenon ADE, but still a lot to understand the pathogenesis of DENV. Molecular techniques have been important for the fundamental understanding of the immune system, but not its dynamics. This dynamic generally can not be answered only by experimental methods and is needed help of mathematical models. Thus, we propose an approach based on mathematical modeling, together with the numerical analysis, for the research of antibody dependent enhancement.
