Abstract

The model of the wind turbine equipped with doubly fed induction generator has been used during the project of scientific initiation in which the student has been involved, also supported by FAPESP. The maximum power tracking point implemented in the existing model of wind turbine based on doubly fed induction generator available on the toolbox of Matlab/Simulink do not consider a wind speed model and works only with linear slow variations or fixed values of wind speed. This project will implement a more complex wind speed model and also an adequate control methodology to analyze the wind energy capture by wind turbine. The use of a more complex wind speed model and a control that deals with the fast variations is necessary in order to simulate more realistic situations involving the blade pitch angle control. The investigation with the model will be performed through multiple dynamic nonlinear three-phase simulations, using a toolbox from Matlab/Simulink. (AU)
