Abstract

This research project describes a six-month work plan for an international scholarship, from January to June, 2014. It will be supervised by Professor Álvaro Pires, Chairholder at Canada Research in Legal Traditions and Penal Rationality, Department of Criminology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa. The relevance of this project lies in the possibilities of contact with bibliographic material, the university facilities, disciplines offered and, especially, in the fact that Canada is a prominent country regarding the subject of my PhD thesis sponsored by FAPESP: the restorative justice. A working period in a country that has different legal traditions, but also drives restorative justice initiatives, can allow me a deeper contact with theoretical foundations and the expansion of analytical possibilities in ways to improve and complement my research devoted to the subject of restorative justice in Brazil.
